He had this terrible past which he doesn't have closure with up until he made up the Bake shop. Joo Ji-hoon (from Goong and Mawang) who played as Kim Jin Hyeok, Antique's owner was the most complex character in the lot. The movie is quite long, with bits of musical pieces in between that I almost thought it was going to be like a broadway musical show up to the end. I'm also glad that the director and producer gave the chance for these characters to show their own side of the story. In this movie, what was really interesting was how each character had their own story to tell. How could four-hot-good-looking-irresistible stars not garner these amount of fans? I watched the movie earlier with a friend and am not surprised as to why 1million viewers tried to watch this film within two weeks. It would seem like Kim Jae Wook has temporarily invaded my brain with not-so-decent thoughts of him and a certain prince.Rewatch Value 10 The Kmovie would have been a good queer film if not for the plot. Ah, to each his own, right? Oh well, while the movie's not here yet, I'll be enjoying myself with youtube videos of sneak peeks and altered trailers of the said movie. Forgive the probable shallowness (and eccentricity - considering hobbies like this are not considered normal under, well, normal circumstances). I can't wait for the movie! I know I can't stress that enough so I apologize (again) for the obsessive fangirl-ing-ness that this blog entry is oozing with. I can't wait for the dvd (my dvd contact will be hearing from me). Hurrah for love triangles!įrom what I've heard, the movie opened on Korean cinemas yesterday. Sunglasses will soon be harboring a crush on Waffle guy. The other two who completed the cast are Yoo Ah In (who looks like Rain) as the young rebel-type with a sweet tooth who becomes Waffle guy's so-called apprentice or something, and Choi Ji-Ho as a stiff-looking, sunglasses-wearing guy who acts as a bodyguard slash friend of Prince Shin (sorry, I didn't get their Korean character names!). He rose to the top of my hotness meter when I saw the scene where he was gyrating his hips while on top of a table in a club. Totally opposite from the stoic, bad boy feel that he has in Coffee Prince. I have to say, hands down, Jae Wook has got to be the hottest uke I have ever seen. In the story, he is hopelessly in love/like/lust with the bakery owner. Problem is, he kept on getting fired because he is such a beautiful gay guy that his co-workers end up fighting over him. Waffle guy ( Kim Jae Wook) is the lovely and, ahem, gay patissiere of the bakery who is supposedly the best in the biz. Although I have to say for myself that I'm not quite digging the mustache. He seemed more mature, more manly in this film. He grew a mustache in this movie, far off from his snobby, boyish good looks in Princess Hours.

Oh, the kissing scenes~ Tons of kissing scenes! With different boys! (Apologies for my fan girl-ing.) And that was just one of the still photos! You wouldn't wanna know how I looked like when I saw the trailer. Imagine my reaction when I saw that suspicious (not to mention, hot) photo of Prince Shin (Gian, in the Filipino version) being hugged from behind by Waffle guy. Boo!Īnd so, I busied myself with Korea's version of the manga. Namely, removing all hints of boy-on-boy moments. And I might not have the heart to anymore, seeing that they did a few, correction, MAJOR alterations to the show. I haven't had the chance to see it, though. It was shown last 2001 (with my boy Takki as one of the cast). Oh, the fan service~Īs I was wikipedia-ing everything I could find about Antique Bakery (while my cute little Korean student waited on the line), I came across the jdorama adaptation of the said manga. All I can say is, it would have seemed like the manga's main purpose was to insinuate nosebleed to fan girls such as myself. And wouldn't you know, it seemed like what I knew was enough. Since I have no idea what the manga's all about, (not until I saw a somewhat-scandalous photo of the guy from Princess Hours (Goong) and of the Waffle guy from Coffee Prince did I come to know it), I wikipedia-d like there was no tomorrow. Oh, and boys (I had to mention that since that contributed to the delicious factor). The set reminded of the Korean drama My Name is Kim Sam Soon. A fan girl's wish come true.Īntique Bakery is a manga about four men who work in a (duh) bakery. Japanese anime turned to live action movie.
